All firmware updates are applied using Sentinel. Select Update --> Update Firmware
Before applying updates, you should back up your programming. Always use the latest version of Sentinel to update.

- Improved NXDN48 (OFT) reception.
- Slightly improved the clarity of analog and digital voice
1.09.02 Main (04/05/2019)
This update includes the following enhancements and bug fixes:
- Modified crackle noise for analog voice
- Fixed the issue the open squelch backlight does not turn off till hold time expires
- Changed housekeeping off while scanning one site and detecting its control channel (drop in reception every 2 seconds)
1.02.01 Sub / 1.08.05 Main (3/7/2019)
Be sure to also update Sentinel when applying this update.
This firmware update applies the following new settings and bug fixes:
- Added an "AMP OFF Timer" setting that determines how long the amplifier stays on after a transmission ends. If you hear hum between transmissions, change this from Infinite to one of the available settings.
- Added "Wide Normal", "Wide Invert", and "Wide Auto" filter options for FM performance improvement. When you pick this setting, the filter becomes weaker for interference on a nearby frequency. However, the linearity of the IF can be maintained even when there is strong interference within the band, and the reception may be improved in some cases.
- Added an option to display the filter setting when customizing the display.
- Improved a reception dropout issue where dropouts are often accompanied by "LINK" icon appearing at start of dropout.
- Improved crackling noise on analog.
- Improved the reports that some REC files created have no audio captured at replay.
- Added a prompt to exit certain modes.
1.07.04 Main Release Notes (01/28/2019)
- Add "Off" filter setting.
1.07.02 Main Release Notes (01/25/2019)
- Removes "Original" filter test setting.
- Improves an issue where the keypad could be slow to respond when recording if there were many recordings on the SD card.
- Note that the sub-directory name for recordings has changed to a shorter format which is a hex-encoded version of the date and time. If keylag is still present, delete all recordings from the scanner so that the long-format directory names are eliminated.
1.07.00 Main / 1.02.00 Sub Release Notes (01/24/2019)
- Adds additional countermeasures to help in strong signal areas (especially for VHF/UHF). It also adds a user option to set the default RF High Pass Filter (HPF) used. See below for menu options
- Fixed freezing issue over 1000 sessions (sub folders) in user recording mode. This might also affect the reboot issue.
- Support decoding for Late Entry code of CapMax.
- Modified operations of LCN Finder for CapMax.
- Modified DMR TGID validation method.
MENU --> SETTINGS --> GLOBAL AUTO FILTER
- Normal (always use HPF)
- Invert (always use inverted HPF)
- Auto (try HPF then if no signal detected to open squelch, try inverted HPF)
Note: If
Auto is selected, conventional scan and search speed will be greatly slowed, as every frequency on which a signal is not detected on first pass will be rescanned using the inverted HPF setting.
MENU --> MANAGE FAVORITES --> REVIEW/EDIT SYSTEM --> EDIT SITE --> SET FILTER (Setting menu for trunked systems)

1.05.01 Main / 1.01.05 Sub Release Notes (08/12/2018)
- Fixed Site NAC operation for compared NACs.
- Fixed digital end code detection for Motorola systems.
- Modified the voice channel termination method for P25 Phase 1 systems
Regarding Site NAC Operation:
You can select (use or ignore) Site NAC of P25 Trunked Systems (including P25 OFT) in RRDB and Favorites Lists. When we added NAC support, we did not anticipate that the NAC would be incorrect in RRDB for many sites. This has caused many reports that the scanner stopped working with the new firmware (it was actually working correctly and rejecting the site traffic with the "incorrect" NAC). So, we've added an option to ignore the programmed NAC.
MENU-->Settings-->Site NAC Operation
When you set to ignore, the scanner will pass all traffic, even if the programmed NAC does not match the received NAC. If the NAC does not match, the CTCSS/DCS/NAC field in the display will show "NAC:xxxh xxxh" (Display two NACs simultaneously.)
The first xxxh is the incorrect (dB setting) NAC, and the 2nd xxxh flashes the received NAC.
1.03.01 Release Notes (06/29/2018)
- Improved situation where P25 systems holding on good signal would miss many coms
- Improved situation where EDACS systems were missing comms
- Corrected inconsistent backlight operation
- Improved Capacity Plus and DMR One-Frequency Trunked performance
- Fixed DMR LCN Finderissue
- Appended new display option "Unit ID Name" 1, 2, 3, and 4
The new display option allows you to see Unit ID names that are larger than a single field. The ID is provided in 4 parts. Put these fields next to each other, in order, to see the entire Unit ID.
1.02.03 Release Notes (06/01/2018)
- Improved false TGID display on DMR systems
