BC125AT Firmware Update

Uniden updates the operating software (firmware) of its scanner product from time to time to add or change features, fix bugs, and overall to keep our products up-to-date with the latest rules and technologies. Follow the instructions on this page to apply the latest firmware to your BC125AT scanner.

Applying the Update

Follow these simple steps to update your BC125AT to the most recent version.

1. Download BC_VUP_V3_03_00.zip and unzip the contents to a folder on your computer.
2. Navigate to the folder you used in step 1, and run the "Setup.exe" file in that folder. The firmware update application "BC_VUP3" will be installed on your PC.
3. Run the application you installed in Step 2 and follow the prompts to apply the latest update to your scanner.

Note that you should also download and install the latest version of the PC software from BC125AT.

1.06.05 (July 14, 2020 - Current release version)

Caution: Please check your scanner's serial number before updating.

If your scanner's serial number starts with 370A, be sure to use ONLY this (or newer) version. The scanner will stop working using earlier versions.

If your scanner's serial number starts with 370Z, you can update to this (or newer) version.

1.03.01 (September 5, 2012)

DO NOT install this version on radio with serial number that starts with 370A.

If you install this version to a unit that starts with S/N 370A, the scanner will stop working. To restore function, you will need to update to the latest version.

Added a function to select USA or Canadian band plans on power up:

• Hold 1 during power up to select the USA band plan.
• Hold 2 during power up to select the Canadian band plan.

1.02.05 (April 27, 2012)

This update makes the following changes:

• Update the frequency steps in the VHF band to match the latest FCC Narrowbanding band plan.
• Change the opening screen to include the current firmware version.
• Apply a one-time routine to convert the memory image of existing channels to the new format required by the narrowbanding change.
• Change how Marine channels are displayed during service search.
• Fixed a bug that could cause scanning/reception to stop with certain combinations of Close Call and other features selected.
